Introduction: Pyrophylite occurs as minute, mica-like crystals and is a low-grade metamorphic mineral. It is usually cream, golden or white in colour. As it is such a soft stone, it is used for stone carvings that can be polished into a variety of colours.
Distribution: Amis Schlucht on the western edge of the Brandberg Mountain, north of Uis.
