Introduction: Visser's Shovel-Snout (Prosymna visseri) differs from other shovel-snouted snakes because they live in deep granite cracks in rocky areas. They prefer a Mopane tree savannah in rocky outcrops.
Distribution: There has been only 1 isolated recording of a specimen observed in Kamanjab, Damaraland, south of Etosha National Park.
Diet: Gecko eggs.
Colouring: A dark brown back with a broken pale yellowish vertebral stripe. The belly is white.
Breeding: Females lay between 3 to 6 elongated eggs.
Size: Max SVL male 263mm, female 310mm.
