The Slender Thread snake is a slender snake with a cylinderical body.

Introduction: The Slender Thread snake (Leptotyphlops gracilior) is just that, a very slender snake. It has a cylinderical body, with a short head and blunt tail. Other snakes are amongst their main predators.

Distribution: An isolated population have been recorded around the Aus region of Namibia.

Diet: Ants and termites.

Colouring: Uniform to black body.

Breeding: Females lay around 3 or 4 elongated eggs.

Size: Max SVL 225mm.
