Introduction: Delalande's Beaked Blind snake (Rhinotyphlops lalandei) lives in an arid savannah type vegetation habitat. The main predator of this species is the Spotted Harlequin snake. As with other species of blind snakes they are often forced to the surface in heavy rainfall or exposed due to the effects of ploughing.
Distribution: There are a couple of small populations left behind near Dordabis and Usakos.
Diet: Termites and occasionally other invertebrates.
Colouring: The belly is pale pink-grey, the back a uniform pinkish-slate to grey-brown above.
Breeding: Females lay between 2 and 4 eggs.
Size: Max SVL 350mm.
