Introduction: There are 3 subspecies of striped legless skink, with the (Acontias lineatus lineatus) present in Namibia. It has a flattened, edged snout, ideal for burrowing in sandy, arid soils and target the bases of vegetation.
Distribution: Southern Namibia including the Fish River Canyon and the Orange River region.
Diet: Small vertebrates.
Colouring: A yellow back has a number of dark stripes or rows of spots and a plain belly.
Breeding: Female give birth to a single baby.
Size: Max SVL 145mm.
