Elongated quill snouted

This snake has a very elongated, prominent yet depressed snout.

Elongated quill snouted

Introduction: The Elongated Quill-Snouted snake has a very elongate, prominent yet depressed snout.

Distribution: North east Namibia including Etosha National Park and south through Waterberg Plateau as far as Windhoek.

Diet: Lizards.

Colouring: A light purple-brown back has 2 rows of dwarf irregular blotches. The belly is white to dirty yellow. Rare specimens a uniform black colour have been recorded.

Breeding: Females lay up to 4 large eggs.

Size: Max SVL male 580mm, female 800mm.
