Introduction: Brain's blind legless skink (Typhlosaurus braini) has the mantle of thinnest of all blind legless skinks with a relatively long tail. They are active in the early winter evenings and are a late summer afternoon forager. The trained eye can spot conspicuous tracks in the sand and Brain's blind legless skinks will disappear deep into the sand when disturbed. A major predator is the Namib golden mole.
Distribution: The central Namib Desert from the Kuiseb River to the Koichab River.
Diet: Termites and insect larvae.
Colouring: The entire body is a light-pink colour except for a few faint brown forehead markings.
Breeding: 1 or 2 babies are born during the breeding season.
Size: Max SVL 200mm.
