Kalahari round headed worm lizard

Introduction: Kalahari round-headed worm lizards (Zygaspis quadrifrons) shelter under stones in sandy and bushveld habitats.

Distribution: Kalahari Desert regions of Namibia including Etosha National Park.

Diet: Small insects and their larvae in particular termites.

Colouring: An upper uniform purple-brown body and lighter belly often darkens towards the tail.

Breeding: Females lay 3 or 4 elongated eggs in summer.

Size: Max SVL 245mm.
