Introduction: Dusky Spade-Snouted worm lizards (Monopeltis infuscata) prefer dry and moist savannah on sandy ground, burrowing in red soils in search of food. They have many predators, probably due to its worm-like appearance, such as the yellow-billed kite, bateleur and hornbill, jackals, burrowing asps and quill-snouted snakes. Floods force them to the surface, where their predators await.
