Western thicktoed gecko
Introduction: Western spotted thick-toed geckos (Pachydactylus serval) are found in isolated populations and live in small, hard rock cracks such as sandstone, granite and dolerite. They are a small gecko with a flattened head and body.
Distribution: Southern Namibia including Fish River Canyon and extending north on the central plateau as for as Windhoek.
Diet: Small insects.
Colouring: The back is pale olive to greyish-brown, with dark-brown blotches and a white belly.
Breeding: Females lay 2 hard-shelled eggs in rock cracks.
Size: SVL 35 to 40mm. Max SVL 45mm.
