Bocages sharp nosed reed frog

Introduction: Bocage's Sharp-Nosed Reed frog (Hyperolius benguellensis) are named after the Angola west coastal town of Benguela. Features include an elongated body and pointed snout. A variety of vegetation types in savannah and grassland such as swamps, rivers and lakes, dominate their habitat locations.

Distribution: Across the Zambezi Region (formerly the Caprivi Strip) including Linyati Marshes and the Chobe/Zambezi River systems.

Diet: Spiders and other insects.

Colouration: Predominately green body with prominent pairs of lighter vertebral and dorsal bands. The underside is whitish.

Breeding: Breeds in deep, permanent water.

Maximum size: 20mm.
