Banded Ferns (Pteris vittata) can only be found near water where roots can come into contact with moisture. Their distribution is near the Kwando River/Linyati Marsh region of the Zambezi Region (formerly the Caprivi Strip), west of Epupa Falls and near Waterberg Plateau.
Their broad leathery fronds grow to nearly a metre in length in clumps. They require sunshine and partial shade, water and are fairly frost resistant.
