Yellow mouse-whiskers (Cleome angustifolia) is a slender herb widely distributed throughout southern Africa. Beautiful yellow flowers bloom from blue-green leaflets in clusters of 3-10. They are quite delicate and thread-like in appearance. The yellow flowers have a purple dot at the base which appear more to the top of the stem than anywhere else. It can grow in almost any habitat and is prominent in disturbed areas. There are 15 species of Cleome in Namibia, with striking similarities between many of them.
