The sandpaper plant (Kissenia capensis) is a multi-seasonal plant that can grow to a height of 1m. It occurs in the Northern Cape and western Namibia and is prevalent in drainage lines, riverbeds and disturbed habitats. It has also been observed growing in rocky places.
Kissenia capensis has a bright green appearance. It is a tall, upright plant that is hard to miss, especially when its large, white flowers, surrounded by long leaves are in full bloom. This structure aides seeds to disperse and the leaves are large, rough and serrated. It can reach 1m in height.
