Wonder worm

Eunice aphroditois
They can be from 35cm up to one metre in length.

Wonder worm

Introduction: Wonder worms (Eunice aphroditois) are found in numbers under boulders and especially into gravelly areas. Features include 5 antennae protruding from the anterior lobe of the head (prostomium), feathery gills from the legs found on segment 8 and set of large jaws that give a nasty bite.

Distribution: The mouth of the Orange River extending north towards Luderitz.

Diet: Small carnivorous sea creatures.

Colouration: Mottled purple-brown with a blue-green sheen and a pale bar across the 4th segment.

Max size: 35cm reaching up to 1m, hence the name!
