Introduction: Plumed hydroids (Plumularia setacea) are common in shallow waters. They have a low, creeping base supporting unbranched plume-like stems, hence the name.
Distribution: From the Kunene River mouth south to Möwe Bay, Henties Bay, Jakkalsputz, Swakopmund and Walvis Bay, Luderitz
Diet: Microscopic sea food
Colouration: Pale branches
Breeding: Reproductive individuals (Gonothecae) resemble smooth sacs with curved necks
Max size: Stems 20mm tall
