Gunnarea capensis
A gregarious species, known to overrun the shore.

Cape reef worm

Introduction: Cape reef worms (Gunnarea capensis) inhabit reefs of 3m in diametre and no higher than 50cm. A gregarious species, known to overrun the shore whenever increasing numbers form part of their natural cycle.

Distribution: Henties Bay, Jakkalsputz, Wlozkasbaken, Swakopmund and Walvis Bay, Sandwich Harbour and Luderitz.

Diet: Feeds on sea particles at high tide

Colouration: Iridescent black-blue tentacles

Max size: 50mm
