Introduction: Striped anemones (Anthothoe chilensis) eject sticky white strands through the body wall when bothered. Found in abundance in rock pools and under boulders from mid-tide down. Fed upon by sea slugs.
Distribution: Orange River mouth, extending no further north than Bogenfels
Colouration: Green, yellowish-brown or pink, often pale with a smooth, vertically striped column
Breeding: Either sexual/body division
