Introduction: Plum anemones (Actinia equina) can survive the ordeals of tidal patterns by closing up tightly when exposed at low tide by trapping water within their body cavity. Hangs from shady gullies and overhangs.

Colouration: Plum red overall with a shiny, smooth column. They outer row of tentacles shield a row of bright-blue globules.
Breeding: Young are brooded within the body cavity until born as a fully-developed juvenile anemone
