Introduction: Species of Hadogenes tityrus prefer rocky and mountainous regions, sheltering in cracks and crevices of rocks and layers of rock. Elongated pincers in both male and female are a feature of this species.
Distribution: Western ranges of the country including the Namib Desert, Fish River Canyon, Brandberg Mountains, Erongo Mountains, Spitzkoppe and much of Damaraland.
Diet: Insects, millipedes, spiders and smaller scorpions.
Colouration: Dark brown body.
Breeding: Gestation period can last for up to 18 months.
Maximum size: 80mm.
