Swamp Tigertails were first described 'from Dundo' in Angola in 1955.

Introduction: Swamp Tigertails (Ictinogomphus dundoenis) were first described 'from Dundo' in Angola in 1955. Slow-moving braided rivers with well-vegetated reeds and water lilies are the ideal habitat.

Distribution: Popa Falls and the Kwando River.

Colouration: Similar black and yellow markings to the Common Tigertail but with blue eyes and an apparent darker overall colour.

Breeding: Oviposition takes place between reeds.

Flight season: December, February and March.

Max size: 70mm.

Conservation: 'Data deficient' status but dependent on Kwando River conditions.
