Introduction: Swamp Tigertails (Ictinogomphus dundoenis) were first described 'from Dundo' in Angola in 1955. Slow-moving braided rivers with well-vegetated reeds and water lilies are the ideal habitat.
Distribution: Popa Falls and the Kwando River.
Colouration: Similar black and yellow markings to the Common Tigertail but with blue eyes and an apparent darker overall colour.
Breeding: Oviposition takes place between reeds.
Flight season: December, February and March.
Max size: 70mm.
Conservation: 'Data deficient' status but dependent on Kwando River conditions.
