Swamp Emperors are rare in Namibia but do occur in swampy river courses and water channels running between reeds.

Introduction: Swamp Emperors (Anax bangweuluensis) are rare in Namibia but do occur in swampy river courses and water channels running between reeds. First recorded in Lake Bangwelu in Zambia.

Distribution: Linyati Swamps, Kwando River and other regions in the Caprivi Strip.

Colouration: Reddish and similar in colour to the Orange Emperor.

Breeding: Females oviposit at the foot of sedges and rushes.

Flight season: The rainy season.

Max size: 75mm.

Conservation: Data deficient.
