Introduction: Most recordings of the Swamp Bluet (Africallagma glaucum) have been in locations of 1,200m above sea level at perennial or temporary waters with submerged aquatic vegetation.
Distribution: Naukluft Mountains, central highlands, Otavi Mountains, Khomas Hochland, Kamanjab and Tsaobis.
Colouration: Bluish-green abdomen (glaucum). The thorax in mature males is bright blue.
Breeding: Egg development can last up to 4 weeks.
Flight season: October to June.
Max size: 30mm.
