Introduction: Rock Hooktails (Paragomphus cognatus) frequent rivers and pools, rocky streams. Their upper appendages curve outwards.
Distribution: Otavi Mountains and the Kavango River.
Colouration: Yellow thorax and black thoracic markings.
Breeding: Larvae usually burrow in sandy sediments.
Flight season: January and March.
Max size: 50mm.
Conservation: Appears to have been exterminated from the Otavi Mountains and rare in the Kavango River.
