Introduction: Ringed Cascaders (Zygonyx torridus) inhabit rapids and waterfalls but only at small streams. Unlike most other species that can be found in moving water locations, they often migrate.

Distribution: Damaraland, Kaokoland, Windhoek, Caprivi Strip, Rundu, Epupa Falls, and some other central and southern scattered locations.

Colouration: Black body with distinctive yellow markings. Dark metallic frons.

Breeding: Larvae develop at the base of emerging plants and sedges in fast-moving waters.

Flight season: Throughout the year.

Max size: 50mm.

Conservation: Not threatened.
