Pied-Spots occur mainly at well-vegetated ponds and swamps.

Introduction: Pied-Spots (Hemistigma albipunctum) occur mainly at well-vegetated ponds and swamps.

Distribution: Kavango, Chobe and Kwando Rivers, the Von Bach Dam near Okahandja.

Colouration: The body is yellowish with black markings.There is a yellow and black line to the front of the wing in both males and females, the face is metallic dark blue above and yellow underneath.

Breeding: Emergence can take a few hours and begins a few days before the larva depart the water.

Flight season: Throughout the year and in April and May at the Von Bach Dam.

Conservation: Not threatened.
