Nubian Sprites prefer well-vegetated areas and slow-moving perennial waters.

Introduction: Nubian Sprites (Pseudagrion nubicum) prefer well-vegetated areas and slow-moving perennial waters.

Distribution: Etosha National Park, Von Bach Dam, Tsauchab River and in the Naukluft Mountains.

Colouration: Blue body with black markings. The upper thorax is bluish-green. There are blue and other black markings on the abdomen.

Breeding: Males wait on perches to pounce on females.

Flight season: January, April and May.

Conservation: Globally not threatened but rare in Namibia and could qualify for a 'Date deficient' status on the National Red List.
