Navy Dropwing are found only at locations with fast-moving waters, often perching over streams.

Introduction: Navy Dropwing (Trithemis furva) are found only at locations with fast-moving waters, often perching over streams.

Distribution: Orange River, Naukluft Mountains, Von Bach Dam, Kavango River.

Colouration: Rich blue, broad abdomen in mature males, females sport a mainly upper yellow abdomen, black-lined on the mid-dorsal.

Breeding: Embryonic and larval development lasts for a minimum of 5 weeks.

Flight season: November to May.

Conservation: Not threatened.
