Common Threadtails can be observed in swift-flowing sections of streams and rivers, often amongst reeds.

Introduction: Common Threadtails (Elattoneura glauca) can be observed in swift-flowing sections of streams and rivers, often amongst reeds. Glaucus is Latin for 'bluish-green, grey', a reference to the male's blue pruinosity.

Distribution: Kunene River region, Kavango River/Zambezi Rivers.

Colouration: Pale brown with black markings at emergence. Males become black with ageing.

Breeding: Not known.

Flight season: Throughout the year including July, September, November and December, February to April.

Conservation: Not threatened.
