Common Fairytails are a very small and slender creature that prefer staying in the deep shade of trees.

Introduction: Common Fairytails (Lestinogomphus angustus) are a very small and slender creature that prefer staying in the deep shade of trees.

Distribution: Restricted to Ruacana Falls, Rundu, the Kavango River, Kwando River and Chobe River.

Colouration: Greenish-yellow with brown markings and pale blue eyes.

Breeding: Emergence is first observed in August, larvae occur at river sites ranging from fast-flowing to muddy and slow-flowing sections of rivers. Mating takes place in the shade of trees.

Flight season: August to April.

Max size: 40 to 47mm.

Conservation: Not threatened.
