Introduction: Black-tailed Bluets (Azuragrion nigridorsum) can be found in spring-fed ponds created from the damming of streams. The species appears to be totally black from above.
Distribution: Otavi Mountains, Sesfontein, Ongongo and the Upper Swakop River near Gross Barmen.
Colouration: Pale brown pterostigma, black head with a green to blue labrum, blue thorax and a greenish-blue abdomen.
Breeding: Oviposits in submerged plants. The hatched larvae live between the plants.
Flight season: Throughout the year.
Max size: 30mm.
