Introduction: Zambezi Skippers (Abantis zambesiaca) inhabit bushveld. Females are scarce and this species is often found at the lower areas of koppies feeding on flowers.
Distribution: Zambezi Region (formerly the Caprivi Strip).
Breeding/Larval food: Greenish-brown final instar lava have heavy yellow spots.
Colouration: Shiny blue of the wings is beautifully combined with large white spots and striking body colours.
On the wing: August to November and from February to May.
Wingspan: 40 to 45mm.
