The fast-flying Two-pip Policeman is often seen on flowering plants in a bushveld habitat and along forest edges.

Introduction: The fast-flying Two-pip Policeman (Coellades pisistratus) is often seen on flowering plants in a bushveld habitat and along forest edges. Its hilltop whirling flight is unique.

Distribution: Zambezi Region (formerly the Caprivi Strip)

Breeding/Larval food: Larvae live inside the leaf capsule cut from the leaf of its host food plant.

Colouration: There are 3 black spots on a white underside band. The hind wing anal angle is lobed.

On the wing: Throughout the year.

Wingspan: Approx 50 to 60mm.
