Introduction: A Small Elvin (Sarangesa phidyle) inhabits open bushveld, often darting about in the shade of trees. They are attracted to flowers and settle with their wings held flat.
Distribution: Zambezi Region (formerly the Caprivi Strip).
Breeding/Larval food: Larvae and pupae are hidden in stitched-together leaves.
Colouration: Mottled brown uppersides and characteristic bright ochreous undersides.
On the wing: Throughout the year.
Wingspan: Approx 30mm.
