Silvery Bar (Spindasis phanes) can be observed in savannah habitats. Low flowers are a preferred resting site.

Introduction: Silvery Bar (Spindasis phanes) can be observed in savannah habitats. Low flowers are a preferred resting site.

Distribution: Northern Namibia.

Breeding/Larval food: Spp of blackthorn, acacia and sour plum.

Colouration: Shiny white undersides crossed by orange bands. Phanes is a Greek word for glittery or showy.

On the wing: Throughout the year.

Wingspan: 24 to 30mm.
