Introduction: Homeyer's Bar (S. homeyeri) is a rare butterfly that can be found in both summer and winter colours. Their main habitat is hilltops.
Distribution: Observations from the Fontein Amarumba have been recorded.
Breeding/Larval food: Various acacia spp.
Colouration: The winter form has a dull ground colour on the underside. The bars are bright reddish brown in the summer.
On the wing: Flies throughout the year.
Wingspan: Approx 30mm.
