Introduction: Doubleday's Orange Tip (Colotis doubledayl angolanus) resemble closely the Veined Orange Tip. They patrol close to the ground or flying up and down dirt roads in dry habitats.
Distribution: From Epupa Falls south through Kaokoland , Damaraland , Brandberg Mountain, Windhoek, Fish River Canyon, Otavi, Grootfontein and Tsumeb, Zambezi Region (formerly the Caprivi Strip) .
Breeding/Larval food: The ringwood tree (Maerua schinzii).
Colouration: Butter yellow uppersides sport an obvious broad black outer margin in both wings.
On the wing: Large numbers have been recorded from September to October and in April and May.
Wingspan: Male: 33 to 37mm. Female: 35 to 37mm.
