Colotis doubledayl angolanus
Doubleday's Orange Tip (Colotis doubledayl angolanus) resemble closely the Veined Orange Tip. They patrol close to the ground or flying up and down dirt roads in dry habitats.

Introduction: Doubleday's Orange Tip (Colotis doubledayl angolanus) resemble closely the Veined Orange Tip. They patrol close to the ground or flying up and down dirt roads in dry habitats.

Distribution: From Epupa Falls south through Kaokoland , Damaraland , Brandberg Mountain, Windhoek, Fish River Canyon, Otavi, Grootfontein and Tsumeb, Zambezi Region (formerly the Caprivi Strip) .

Breeding/Larval food: The ringwood tree (Maerua schinzii).

Colouration: Butter yellow uppersides sport an obvious broad black outer margin in both wings.

On the wing: Large numbers have been recorded from September to October and in April and May.

Wingspan: Male: 33 to 37mm. Female: 35 to 37mm.
