Cream Striped Swordtails can be observed in savannah and wooded areas.

Cream striped swordtail

Introduction: Cream Striped Swordtails (Graphium (A.) porthaon) can be observed in savannah and wooded areas.

Distribution: Katima Mulilo, Victoria Falls, Okavango Delta and the lower Zambezi River.

Breeding/Larval food: The custard-apple family (Annonaceae) and the bastard dwaba-berry (Friesodielsia obovata).

Colouration: A dark ground colour with cream coloured patches and stripes with broader forewing markings than other species of Swordtail.

On the wing: Throughout the wet-season.

Wingspan: Approx 70mm.
