Introduction: The low, rapid flight of the Common Orange Tips (Colotis (C.) evenina) can be observed in open thornveld, where they tend to settle on flowers or on the ground. Males patrol a well-defined area, by patrolling a particular path.
Distribution: Throughout northern, central and southern Namibia less for the Namib Desert .
Breeding/Larval food: The leaves of the shepherd's tree and caper-bush.
Colouration: Pink underside with heavy black markings in both sexes.
On the wing: Throughout the year.
Wingspan: 38 to 42mm.
