Introduction: Common Hottentot Skippers (Gegenes niso) inhabit grassland, close to forests and savannah habitats. Flower gardens attract this species.
Distribution: Northern Namibia.
Breeding/Larval food: Eggs are laid on the leaves of various puzzle-bushes (Ehretia) and soft grasses.
Colouration: Dark-brown uppersides with an ochreous tinge and some spots.
On the wing: Throughout the year.
Wingspan: Approx 40mm.
