Introduction: Broad-bordered Acraeas (Acraea anemosa) favour open-wooded areas, where they flutter around above the ground.
Distribution: Zambezi Region (formerly the Caprivi Strip) , Katima Mulilo
Breeding: Larval host plants include the granadilla family.
Colouration: Large reddish or reddish-brown colour with a broad, black band on the outer margin on the upper surface of the hindwing. Also distinctive discal white spots.
On the wing: From September to May.
Wingspan: Male: 50 to 55mm. Female: 60 to 65mm.
