Distribution: This catfish species is native to Namibia and is specifically found in various freshwater habitats, including streams and rivers across the country.

Diet: The stargazer mountain catfish is a carnivorous species and primarily feeds on aquatic invertebrates, small fish, and insects.

colouring: The stargazer mountain catfish has a unique and striking appearance with a dark black body covered in white speckles, resembling a starry night sky.

behaviour: This species is known to be secretive and nocturnal, usually hiding among rocks and crevices during the day and becoming more active during the night for feeding.

Size: Stargazer mountain catfish can reach a maximum length of about 20 centimetres.
