Diet: The dashtail barb is an omnivorous fish, feeding on small aquatic insects, crustaceans, algae, and plant matter.

colouration: The dashtail barb is known for its striking appearance. It has a light yellow to golden-brown body colour, with a distinctive iridescent shimmer on its scales. The fins may have a reddish or orange hue, adding to its beauty.

Breeding: Females can produce several batches of eggs, and they are known to be prolific breeders under favorable conditions.

Size: The dashtail barb is a small-sized fish, with adult individuals typically reaching lengths of about 4 to 5 centimetres.
