Introduction: The straight-tooth tetra (Astyanax orthodus) is a small and peaceful freshwater fish species found in various water bodies in Namibia.

Distribution: Widely distributed in rivers and streams throughout Namibia.

Diet: The African Glass Tetra is an omnivorous species, feeding on small aquatic insects, zooplankton, and plant matter.

colouring: This fish species has a translucent body with a silvery appearance, allowing observers to see its internal organs.

Breeding: Information on the breeding behaviour of this species is limited.

Size: Grows up to approximately 50mm in total length.
