Although garden warblers inhabit forest edges, thickets and other areas with thick undergrowth, they can be observed in cultivated gardens.

Introduction: Although garden warblers (Sylvia borin) inhabit forest edges, thickets and other areas with thick undergrowth, they can be observed in cultivated gardens. Small groups are often attracted to fruiting trees, with a fast and direct flight pattern.

Distribution: Swakopmund, Kaudom Park and other scattered sightings throughout mainly central and northern ranges of Namibia.
Diet: Takes winged termites, caterpillars and beetles. Also eats berries and fruit including wild fig, mulberries and plums.

Description: Often confused with the larger olive-tree warbler which has a heavier and longer bill. Has a mellow voice and a lilting song.
Breeding: Extralimital.

Size: 14cm.

Weight: 19g.
