Range and Distribution: Western Crested Guineafowls can be found in the northwestern regions of Namibia, particularly in woodlands and forests where they can find adequate cover and forage for food.

Diet and Feeding Habits: These guineafowls have an omnivorous diet, consisting of fruits, seeds, insects, and other small invertebrates they find on the forest floor or in the undergrowth.

Physical Description: The Western Crested Guineafowl is distinguished by its unique crest of black-tipped feathers on the crown of its head. It has a predominantly dark plumage, adorned with delicate white spots and patterns on its feathers.

Breeding behaviour: During the breeding season, Western Crested Guineafowls form monogamous pairs and build ground nests concealed under thick vegetation. The female lays a clutch of eggs, and both parents participate in incubating the eggs and caring for the young.

Size: Approximately 40-55cm.

Weight: Around 800-1200g.
