Gondwana takes over management of Okapuka

The company Gondwana Collection Namibia, is establishing another foothold in the greater Windhoek area. According to this morning's press release, Gondwana is taking over the management of Okapuka Game Ranch. The lodge is situated about 30 minutes by car north of Windhoek on the trunk road to Okahandja.

It is a cooperative venture. Gondwana Collection Namibia (Pty) Ltd and Klein Okapuka CC have equal shares in the newly founded joint venture Okapuka Hospitality Management (Pty) Ltd, the statement says.

Accordingly, Okapuka is to be extensively renovated from next month. From 1 November, it will be possible to book it with Gondwana. In April 2023, it will welcome its first guests under new management.

The lodge was opened in 1998 and with its abundance of game and its game drives in typical African bush savannah just outside Windhoek has quickly become a popular accommodation for Namibian holidaymakers. Windhoekers like to head for it as an excursion destination.

For Gondwana, this is the second joint venture for the management of an established accommodation. The first partner since the beginning of the year is The Weinberg Hotel in Windhoek. With Okapuka, Gondwana now has an attractive accommodation just outside Windhoek in addition to its location in the capital.
